History:
The Presidential Leadership Cabinet (PLC) is an organization formerly known as the Tech Ambassadors. The Ambassadors were founded in 1997. The mission has stayed the same since its creation, to serve as representatives of the President's Office and the Alumni Office.
Our Purpose:
The Presidential Leadership Cabinet shall work in cooperation with the Tech administration to advance Arkansas Tech University and enhance its mission through outreach to prospective and current students, alumni and friends.

Member Responsiblities
- Encourage pride and loyalty in Arkansas Tech University and active participation in campus life.
- Establish important connections between the Tech student body and members of the alumni community.
- Support the President's office and the Alumni office by serving as student leaders and hosts at important university events including commencement in May, December and August.
- Help senior administrators stay in touch with the ambitions, thoughts and concerns of current students.
- Aspire to become active, informed members of Arkansas Tech University alumni community.
- All members are expected to attend all regular meetings, functions, and other required activities.

Membership Requirements
- Applicants must be full-time students who have completed at least 12 semester hours at Tech and are in good standing with the school.
- Students applying must hold at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Students applying must return necessary forms, complete and legible, to the Alumni Office by March 15.
- Students applying will be contacted to participate in a required interview during the month of April.
- Be of good moral character.

What is the Presidential Leadership Cabinet?
The Presidential Leadership Cabinet is a group of students that will serve as representatives of the President's Office and the Alumni Office. This organization serves as the hosts and hostesses for various guests on campus, ranging from alumni and potential donors to President Bowen's guests. Members engage in leadership development training, service activities, and social events.
Who can be a PLC Member?
Current full-time students who have completed at least 12 semester hours at Tech and are in good standing with the school and hold at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Students that apply must fill out an application, get a faculty/staff recommendation, and participate in an interview.
Who are the ideal candidates for the Presidential Leadership Cabinet?
Students interested in applying should be enthusiastic and demonstrate strong communication skills, be reliable, dependable and creative. Members must have an interest in students, alumni and public relations. They also must have pride in Tech, be flexible and diplomatic.
How much does it cost?
The PLC requires no membership dues, but simply asks members for time and effort. In addition to attending various events throughout the year, PLC members hold five to eight general meetings per semester. Attendance is very important, but contribution is the key.
What are the benefits of being a PLC member?
Members will gain leadership and volunteer experience. Opportunities to lead, serve, and work in a team are all available within the group. Members can network and build relationships with fellow members and various offices across campus, as well as with significant Tech figures. Ultimately, the experience of being involved in an organization that "gives back" to Tech is something that the members truly will grow to appreciate.
